Spanish Teaching Methodology

Spanish CuRRICULUM Customization

I design my teaching around the content relevant to the professional or personal interests that drive my client to learn Spanish. Whether it’s conducting business with Spanish speaking clients, communicating with the US Hispanic market, moving aboard to work in a Spanish-speaking country or to adapt to NYC multicultural community.

I offer language instruction to speakers of other languages from beginners to bilinguals who want to gain sophistication and find their own voice in Spanish.

The course follows a whole language approach, where I introduce students to all aspects of Spanish culture. Lessons are designed to be highly immersive, engaging and interactive to achieve your Spanish learning goals at a fast pace.

  • Inductive and deductive grammar exercises
  • English-Spanish translations
  • Verb tense acquisition to be able to narrate events and describe concepts
  • Semantic and syntactical analysis of sentences
  • Learn Spanish vocabulary focusing on the etymology of the words
  • Study of cultural readings, short films and essays on topics relevant to the student
  • Creative writing in Spanish: students refine their writing and verbal skills through brief compositions
  • Reading and discussing news articles
  • Reinforcing principles of Spanish grammar and idioms from Spain and South American countries
  • Learn from basic to complex sentence patterns, enabling the student to relate ideas and punctuate their writing to clarify meaning for their readers
  • Dictation exercises
  • Spanish common phrases that resonate with the student’s personality, tone and style

Materials

No initial investment in materials is required. I provide materials and customized exercises, as well as free resources to compliment your Spanish learning experience.

Class Dynamics

During our first session, there is an initial assessment to understand the student's learning style, their current Spanish level and we establish learning goals.

Initial minutes are dedicated to questions, reviewing our last session and, or correcting homework. Last (generally 7 to10 minutes) are dedicated to reviewing the notes taken during the lesson with the goal of enhancing memorization.
